How long does it take to get custom aluminium sills made in Ireland?

Lead time is the question every contractor asks after they price the job. The honest answer depends entirely on how you order and when.

Standard lead time at Fabricator.ie

Three to five working days from confirmed order to delivery anywhere in Ireland. That is the standard turnaround for straight sills, EWI sills, and bay window sills ordered through the platform.

Orders placed before noon typically move into production the same day. Orders placed after noon move the following morning.

What affects lead time

Completeness of the order

The most common reason an order is delayed is incomplete measurements. If a projection is missing, if the end cap detail is unclear, or if the RAL colour has not been confirmed, the order cannot move to production until that information is in.

When you use the Fabricator.ie platform to measure and order, the system will not let you submit an incomplete order. Every required dimension is captured before you confirm. This eliminates back-and-forth and means your order is production-ready the moment it is placed.

Non-standard profiles

Standard aluminium sill profiles run through production quickly. Bespoke stepped profiles, custom-folded flashings, or profiles manufactured to architect drawings take longer because they require a setup that does not exist in the current production run. Allow five to seven days for fully bespoke work.

RAL colour

All standard RAL colours are held in stock. If you specify a non-standard or special effect powder coat, additional time is needed to source and apply that coating.

How to avoid delays on site

Order your sills at the same time you order your windows, not after. Window lead times in Ireland run four to eight weeks for most suppliers. Your sills will be manufactured and on site well before the windows arrive.

If you are retrofitting, order sills after the EWI boards are fixed and the true projection is confirmed. Ordering before this stage risks measuring the wrong build-up thickness.

Delivery

Fabricator.ie delivers nationwide. Most of Ireland is next-day from despatch. Remote areas in the west and northwest may be two days. You will receive a tracking link when your order leaves the workshop.
